Questions & answers
Frequently asked questions
Still wondering about something? Here are the answers to the most common questions.
Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?
No credit card is required to start your 60-day free trial. Sign up with just your email and a password and you get full access to every feature immediately. You'll only need a payment method if you choose to subscribe after the trial ends.
What happens after my 60-day trial ends?
At the end of your 60-day free trial you can choose a quarterly ($7.99/mo) or yearly ($5.99/mo) plan. Your data — all your bills, accounts, and payday settings — is saved and ready the moment you subscribe. If you choose not to subscribe, your account becomes read-only until you do.
What's the difference between the Quarterly and Yearly plans?
Both plans include exactly the same features — there's no stripped-down quarterly tier. The only differences are price and support: yearly subscribers save 25% ($5.99/mo vs $7.99/mo) and get priority support.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes, you can cancel any time from your account settings. If you cancel a quarterly plan you'll retain access until the end of the current billing period. If you cancel a yearly plan, access continues until the end of the year you've already paid for. We don't charge cancellation fees and there is no refund after 4 months of paid use, not including the free trial.
How many accounts can I manage?
Every plan — including the free trial — supports up to 3 separate accounts. Each account has its own bills, payday schedule, and balance. You can switch between them instantly from the top bar, or compare them side by side in the Compare view.
Is my financial data safe?
Yes. Your data is stored securely and is only accessible to your account — we use encrypted connections and secure authentication for every request. We never sell your data or share it with third parties. Your bill amounts and account information stay private to you.
Does it connect to my bank?
No — Bill & Payday Tracker does not connect to your bank account and does not require any bank login credentials. You enter your bills and paydays manually. This keeps your banking information completely private and means the app works regardless of who you bank with.
What does "available funds" mean in the app?
Available funds is calculated from your carry-in balance plus any paychecks received so far this month, minus any bills already due and paid. It tells you what you realistically have to work with right now — Remember you are not entering cash you use for snacks, coffee, etc so in reality you have less funds available. You are responsible for figuring this out. You can add every bill you have however it might look messy. Try to stay under 20 bills or so.
How do I reset my password?
To reset your password you'll need your registered email address and your account ID number (shown in the upper right of the daily summary popup when you sign in). Keep both of these handy — contact support with them and we'll help you regain access quickly.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes — Bill & Payday Tracker is fully responsive and works on any modern smartphone, tablet, or desktop browser. No app download required. Just open it in your browser and it adapts to your screen size automatically.

Transparency
Our honest self-analysis
We compared Bill & Payday Tracker against other bill tracking apps and wrote up what we found — the good and the not-so-good. We think you deserve a straight answer before you sign up.
What sets us apart from other bill trackers
Payday projection
We calculate exactly how much you'll have on payday — after all bills due before it are subtracted. Most bill trackers show what's due. We show what you'll have left. That's a different and more useful number.
Daily welcome summary
Every sign-in opens a daily briefing — available funds, next payday countdown, and every unpaid bill this month. Most apps show a static dashboard. We greet you with today's picture, every day.
Net pay auto-calculation
Enter your gross paycheck — the app estimates your take-home after federal, state, and Social Security taxes. Most competitors make you figure out your net pay yourself and enter it manually.
Low-funds alert with threshold
Set a dollar threshold and the app fires a full-screen alert the moment your available balance drops below it — before a payment bounces, not after. Most apps only show you history.
3 separate accounts in one login
Manage checking, savings, a partner's account — each with its own bills, paydays, and balance. Compare them side by side in one screen. Most bill trackers assume one household, one account.
No bank connection required
Privacy-first by design. No Plaid, no OAuth, no read access to your bank. You enter your own data and it stays yours. Works with any bank or credit union.
Bulk bill upload
Add your entire bill list at once — paste in a list and they're all added in seconds. This feature is rare in this category and saves significant setup time.
What we do well
Simple, fast setup — 7 bills + 1 paycheck and you're running
No feature tiers — every plan includes everything
60-day free trial — generous vs. the 7–14 day industry standard
Works on any device — no app download, no install
Privacy-focused — no bank linking, you own your data
Honest pricing — $5.99–$7.99/mo, no surprise fees
What we don't do yet
No automatic transaction import — all entry is manual
No day-to-day spending tracking — not a replacement for Mint or YNAB
No push or email reminders when bills are coming due
No spending history or 12-month trend reports
Single user only — no shared household or partner access
Bottom line
Bill & Payday Tracker isn't trying to be YNAB or Mint. It fills a specific gap — "I just want to know if I'll make it to payday" — and does that better than most. The payday projection and daily welcome summary are genuinely different from what other tools offer. The biggest gap right now is the lack of push reminders, which most users expect from any bill tool today. That's on our roadmap. We're being honest with you because we'd rather have users who are the right fit than users who are disappointed.
